We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our engineering team and take an active role in designing developing and improving high quality Android applications including shared business logic built with Kotlin Multiplatform KMP KMM The ideal candidate has strong Android fundamentals excellent Kotlin skills hands on KMP KMM experience sound architectural judgment and practical experience using modern AI coding agents to improve engineering productivity
Responsibilities
Design develop maintain and improve high quality Android applications
Design and maintain shared Kotlin Multiplatform KMP KMM modules for example domain data and networking consumed by Android
Define clear boundaries between Android specific code and commonMain use expect actual when platform APIs are required
Improve multiplatform build setup module structure and shared test coverage
Own features from technical design through implementation testing release and monitoring
Write clean maintainable scalable and testable Kotlin code across Android and shared multiplatform modules
Participate in architecture and technical decision making
Review code and help maintain engineering standards across the Android and multiplatform codebase
Identify and resolve performance stability memory and application lifecycle issues
Collaborate closely with backend product design QA iOS other platform teams and other engineering teams
Build reusable components and improve Android and KMP development infrastructure
Use AI coding agents effectively for implementation refactoring testing debugging code analysis and productivity
Critically evaluate AI generated code and maintain ownership of correctness security architecture and quality
Contribute to technical documentation mentoring and knowledge sharing
Required Skills
Strong professional experience in Android development at a senior level
Expert level knowledge of Kotlin
Hands on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform KMP KMM sharing business logic across platforms
Experience with Gradle multiplatform setup source sets commonMain androidMain and multiplatform dependency management
Strong understanding of Android SDK application lifecycle and platform fundamentals
Strong knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines Flow and asynchronous programming including in shared multiplatform code
Experience with modern Android architecture such as MVVM MVI Clean Architecture and modular architecture
Strong experience with Jetpack libraries and Jetpack Compose native Android UI
Experience with dependency injection using Hilt Dagger Koin or equivalent
Experience with REST APIs networking local persistence caching and offline scenarios including shared KMP patterns where applicable
Familiarity with Retrofit OkHttp Ktor Room DataStore SQLDelight or equivalent technologies
Experience with unit testing UI testing and writing testable Android and shared multiplatform code
Strong understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows
Experience debugging crashes ANRs memory leaks and performance issues in production applications
Understanding of Android security fundamentals and secure storage network communication
Experience with CI CD and automated Android build release pipelines
Strong practical experience using AI coding agents as part of a professional software development workflow
Android TV Experience
Familiarity with Android TV development
Experience with Jetpack Compose for TV
Familiarity with Leanback
Understanding of TV navigation D pad interaction and focus management
Understanding of large screen and remote control oriented UX patterns
Experience with media playback applications is highly desirable
Nice to Have
Experience with Compose Multiplatform CMP for shared UI across platforms
Experience with Media3 ExoPlayer especially advanced video playback scenarios
Knowledge of Swift and SwiftUI
Experience working with video streaming platforms OTT VOD applications or media heavy products
Understanding of HLS adaptive bitrate streaming subtitles and media session management
Experience with analytics monitoring crash reporting and application observability
Experience with Android Studio performance profiling tools
Experience designing or maintaining multi module Android and or KMP projects
Experience with Gradle optimization and improving build performance
Experience mentoring Android developers
