We are looking for a Senior Cloud Data Center Network Infrastructure Engineer to design operate and scale the network and infrastructure backbone that powers our video streaming platform You will own the connectivity reliability and performance of an estate spanning 3 datacenters 500 Ubuntu virtual machines and a cloud native application platform that delivers high quality video to viewers at scale
Streaming is a demanding workload high sustained throughput low latency sensitivity to jitter and packet loss and traffic that can spike sharply around live events and popular releases This role is central to keeping that experience smooth from the inter datacenter backbone to the edge and from storage I O for content to the routing that gets every stream to the viewer
This is a hands on senior level position for someone who is equally comfortable troubleshooting a BGP route flap writing an Ansible playbook to roll out a change across hundreds of hosts and sitting in an architecture review to plan the next year of capacity You ll be a technical anchor for the team and a go to person for complex network and infrastructure challenges
What You ll Do
Design deploy and maintain network infrastructure across 3 datacenters including inter DC connectivity redundancy and failover
Configure and manage BGP peering and routing between datacenters and external providers ensuring resilient optimized path selection
Build and operate multiple tunneling connections e g IPsec GRE VXLAN across broadband LAN and WAN links
Administer and optimize Cisco Nexus switching fabrics including VPC spine leaf topologies and VLAN segmentation strategy
Manage and harden FortiGate firewalls policy design VPN termination segmentation and security posture
Operate and scale a fleet of 500 Ubuntu virtual machines including provisioning patching monitoring and lifecycle management
Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Ansible automating configuration deployments and repeatable change across the estate
Support and integrate software defined storage SDS solutions for capacity performance and the high throughput I O demands of video content
Engineer the network for high bandwidth low latency video delivery capacity planning QoS traffic shaping and prioritization of streaming traffic
Optimize content delivery and edge connectivity including CDN integration and peering interconnects with ISPs and IXPs for efficient last mile delivery
Plan and absorb traffic spikes from live events and high demand releases ensuring elastic scaling and graceful degradation under load
Support cloud native application platforms including Kubernetes networking CNI ingress service mesh network policy for streaming and transcoding workloads
Monitor stream quality and network health latency jitter packet loss throughput lead root cause analysis for incidents and drive continuous improvement
What You ll Bring Required
5 years of experience in network and or cloud infrastructure engineering with senior level ownership of production environments
Deep hands on expertise with BGP and complex routing in multi site environments
Strong experience with Cisco Nexus switching and data center network design spine leaf VPC VLANs segmentation
Proven experience administering FortiGate firewalls policies VPNs and tunneling IPsec GRE VXLAN
Solid command of Linux Ubuntu server administration at scale 500 hosts
Practical experience with Ansible and an Infrastructure as Code approach to configuration and change management
Working knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud native networking concepts
Familiarity with software defined storage technologies
Strong understanding of LAN WAN networking broadband connectivity and high availability design
Experience engineering networks for high throughput latency sensitive workloads video streaming media delivery or similarly demanding real time traffic
Excellent troubleshooting skills and a calm methodical approach to incidents
Nice to Have
Industry certifications such as CCNP CCIE Fortinet NSE CKA CKAD or relevant Linux certifications
Experience with monitoring and observability stacks e g Prometheus Grafana ELK
Hands on experience with CDNs e g Cloudflare Akamai Fastly or a self hosted CDN and edge caching strategies
Familiarity with streaming protocols and media delivery HLS DASH RTMP SRT WebRTC and how they shape network requirements
Experience with multicast routing and or large scale live event delivery
Exposure to additional automation IaC tooling Terraform GitOps workflows
Experience with service mesh Istio Linkerd and advanced Kubernetes network policy
Familiarity with storage platforms such as Ceph or equivalent SDS solutions
On call 24x7 production support experience
